Letter from a CEO

news-paper Inside Flexiana | News |

Let me start by saying thanks.

July 14th Flexiana is reaching three years. Thank you for the path over those 3 years. During these three years, we have grown a lot.

At the end of the first year, we were 10 people. At the end of the second year, it was 20. Now, it is 47.

In the last 12 months, monthly turnover grew 400 % to $200k. During the third year, after 30 months, the company has reached profitability.

And also we have changed a lot. We were entering third years still throwing spaghetti on the wall checking what will stick. Some six months ago, the company’s stabilized and we ‘found ourselves.’

Since that we build on top of a solid base.

Flexiana has matured a lot. For instance, one year ago, the whole sales were just one person. Now, we are building a business development team with 9 sales reps, one lead-gen, one marketing person, four developers in internal systems, and me in sales management. And our sales board with four members.

From 1 to 19 people to make our growth even more aggressive (19 is a plan, now we are 11 people hiring and onboarding more folks).

Also, please let me elaborate more on our sales advisory board:

Members are:

  • Jaroslav Lizner – VP of Sales at Easy Software (one of the biggest project management tools development company in the Czech Republic)
  • Richard Brulik – VP of Global Sales at Kentico (the highly successful company developing their own CMS system for mid-size to enterprise companies)
  • Nikola Pantovic – Executive VP of Global Sales Practice & Expansion at Socialbakers (leading social analytics platform)
  • Petr Makovec – Marketing Manager at DXC – B2B marketing, ABM expert

Our sales board has helped us incredibly in creating our vision, processes, and setting us up for further growth.

For next year, our goals are:

  • Add more languages over Clojure and C#. Most likely candidates are other functional languages (Haskell, Elixir, Scala, etc.) and in some form other high potential languages (Go, Python, Kotlin).
  • Surpass $600k monthly turnover during July 2020.
  • Push for a high level of craftsmanship having teams doing TDD, pairing, prototyping and Continuous Delivery every day.
  • Continue with extremely high NPS (we have one passive, all of our other customers are promoters; we are 2 points in NPS rating to reach 100% NPS). NPS).

Flexiana is positioning itself as a company attracting high senior quality developers. We want to write clean code, do lots of tests, work in an agile environment, provide a high level of autonomy to teams. It shows that this is what developers want, and hiring is not our bottleneck.

Thank you for these awesome years. Let’s grow together!
