Where a better method pays for itself fastest

We do not sell to a sector. We build the system a specific decision needs, and the decision tells us more than the sector does. But some sectors are full of the kind of decision that rewards being modelled: repeated hundreds of times a month, carrying money, with data nearby, and made by feel. These are the four where our work has most reliably paid for itself.

Software & professional services 01

Which project is losing money, and what would still fix it

Consultancies, agencies, software firms and engineering practices running many projects at once. Cost-to-complete, bid decisions, staffing and the gap between plan and reality. Explore the sector
Manufacturing & logistics 02

Which orders to take, and in what order to run them

Manufacturers, logistics operators and field-service businesses whose margin is set by acceptance, batching and constrained scheduling before a shift even starts. Explore the sector
Private equity & portfolios 03

Where margin leaks across a portfolio, company by company

Operating partners and portfolio owners who need one repeatable diagnostic, a Decision Opportunity Audit, applied across companies, plus engineering diligence that reads the code and leaves the pitch deck closed. Explore the sector
Financial services 04

Which alert, dispute or case is worth the next reviewer hour

Fintech, payments and lending teams whose margin and risk are set by triage: which alerts and disputes a limited review team works first, what an investigation is worth running at all, and where a threshold should sit when both kinds of error cost money. Explore the sector
Operations & public services 05

Which case, asset or claim to handle first

Asset-heavy operations, healthcare and public-sector operations, and insurers, prioritising limited remedial effort and verifying the rules that must not silently fail. Explore the sector

Your sector is not on this list? The list marks where the pattern is densest, and nothing more. What matters is whether you have a decision that recurs, carries money, and is made without the method it deserves. If you do, start from the decision patterns or from how we think about decision systems.

FAQ

Questions about sectors

Why these four sectors?

Because in each of them the same expensive decision is made hundreds of times a month, by feel, with data sitting nearby that nobody has connected to it. Those are the conditions under which a better method pays for itself fastest, and these four sectors have them in abundance. They are where we have worked most, and they are no boundary on who we work with.

Do you need deep expertise in our specific industry?

Less than you would expect. We build the system a specific decision needs, and the decision tells us far more about the method than the sector does. What matters is that you have a decision that recurs, carries money, and is made without the method it deserves. By the second week of an audit we know your sector well enough to be useful in it, and your people know it well enough for both of us.

What if our sector is not on this list?

Then start from the decision instead. If you have one that recurs, carries money, and no existing system handles well, the page on what we solve will tell you which kind it is, and a conversation will tell you whether we are the right people for it.

How does a first engagement start?

With one recurring decision you bring us. A partner runs a two-to-three-week audit at a fixed fee, establishes what the decision costs you today, and sizes what a better one would be worth before anything is built. The audit can conclude that no system is needed, and it says so when it does.

Start with the decision

Bring us the decision your sector keeps getting wrong

If it recurs, carries material stakes, and no existing system makes it well, the sector comes second and the decision comes first.
